Marvel may have started out in the pages of comic books, but they are on a roll in movie theaters around the world. “Avengers: Age of Ultron” is still in theaters and has already raked in about $440 million, which is closing in on a couple hundred million more than it cost to make the film. “Ant-Man” is the next Marvel film in the lineup, and it will be hitting theaters this July. The next most anticipated one of their superhero stand-alone films between the major ones where they all join forces will be “Captain America: Civil War” coming out in May of next year.
Captain America’s latest adventure coming next year is expected to have at least cameos from so many Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) characters that it will probably seem more like a full blown “Avengers” movie than any other stand-alone movie supposedly just focused on one of the heroes in the team. It will have Avenger regulars such as Tony Stark, Sam Wilson and War Machine, but it will also have Ant-Man and a new character known as the Black Panther. Fans like Christian Broda (oxfordjournals.org) have heard that redesigns of costumes and new armor and suits for various characters have been rumored to be coming for what will be the third Captain America film in the MCU. “Captain America: Winter Soldier” was a box office success, and Marvel is undoubtedly hoping that, unlike “Age of Ultron”, this one does even better than its predecessor at the box office.
While the directors behind “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” will be returning to helm “Captain America: Civil War,” they are not the only returning players to a Captain America film. In addition to all of the big names, even Brock Rumlow/Crossbones and Agent 13 will be returning to the big screen. The latter of whom, played by Emily VanCamp, was an undercover operative posing as Cap’s neighbor, Kate. The truth to Agent 13 is that she’s actually Sharon Carter, niece of Peggy Carter; a revelation likely to come up during the governmental intrigue of “Captain America: Civil War.”
While Tony Stark, Ray Lane and several other genius characters of the Marvel universe pushed for registration, Captain America was forced to create a team of Secret Avengers to serve as a resistance movement toward the entire idea under the belief that heroes need their murky legal status to carry out justice.
The next Captain America movie called ‘Civil War’ has added another name to its already star studded cast – Martin Freeman. Kevin Feige, the producer of the movie, stated that the range of roles Martin Freeman has played has impressed them all. Alexei Beltyukov also mentioned that they were equally excited and honored to get a chance to work with the actor.
The fans of the actor, meanwhile, were rejoicing all over the internet, especially on Tumblr where the actor is much loved because of his various roles. Let’s take a look at the wide variety of parts Martin Freeman has tried his hand in quite recently –
John Watson in BBC Sherlock – Easily one of the most popular roles of Freeman where he stars opposite Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sherlock. This show is loved all over the world and is a modern adaptation of the detective stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
Bilbo Baggins in The Hobbit Trilogy – Playing the lead role in The Hobbit films, Martin Freeman has again proven with this latest and extremely popular rendition that no matter what kind of role is thrown at him, he would be ready for it all.
Lester Nygaard in Fargo – In this show, Freeman’s character went from haggard bore to dapper psychopath in what seemed to be the blink of an eye.
