Today, many rich American families are contributing a lot of their wealth to charities and other philanthropic activities. The DeVos family one such dynasty that has contributed a lot to charity over many years. Richard DeVos Sr. and his wife Helen run a charitable organization from Michigan. They largely support education reform philanthropy. They also support religious based charities including Christian schools, faith-based charities, youth groups and other parochial schools. They have also given grants to Inner City Christian Foundation and Young Life. Richard DeVos Sr. has also supported several republican campaigns. Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital was renamed after Helen DeVos after the couple donated $50 million to jumpstart the hospital. Richard DeVos Sr. has three sons Richard, Dan and Doug DeVos.
Richard DeVos Jr. and his wife Betsy Prince DeVos run their own charitable organization that largely supports school choice, Arts, community health and neighborhood revitalizations. It has also issued grants to several politically conservative organizations in the United States. Dan and Pamela DeVos are known to have donated to Heritage Foundation, Mackinac Center for Public Policy and Acton. Lastly, Doug and Maria DeVos, through their own foundation, have donated to several education programs, Safe Heaven Ministries, Gerald R.
